The "Ranch of Last Resort" is located on 70 acres in the Texas Hill Country, specifically, unincorporated Kerrville, Texas. Its name is derived from the fact it is the last resort for many animals, most of whom were neglected and or abused. Additionally, the property is an environmental sanctuary for land and wildlife species as we maintain the property in its natural state. The Ranch of Last Resort's name is also a nod of respect and recognition to Don Henley and the Eagles' song "The Last Resort", which, in part, speaks to the importance of maintaining the environment.
The property has historical importance as it once belonged to the family of Chester Nimitz, Fleet Admiral of the U.S. Navy and one of the most distinguished members of the U.S. Military during World Wars 1 and 2.
Presently, there are 13 dogs, 3 cats, 1 cow, 3 horses, 24 goats, 1 llama, and counting!
We welcome visitors and partners in our efforts to save and nurture God's creation.
We want to be active in our community's service organizations that strive to make this a better place for everyone to live.
Please feel free to contact us for more information on our "Ranch".
